Villa Katy Church Plant

Fielder Church partnered with Compassion International to plant a new church in partnership with a local church in Colombia. The new church is called Iglesia Evangélica Roca de Salvación (Rock of Salvation Evangelical Church) located in Sincelejo Colombia in the Villa Katy neighborhood. In an area that unemployment at 65% and the average monthly family income is around $64 per month, people were eager for hope!

Since it’s completion this new church plant supports families in need of assistance by fostering a loving community, sharing the gospel, making child protection training accessible and providing food supplements. They also hold prayer meetings on Tuesdays, bible study on Thursday, prayer and fasting on Saturday, Sunday school for kids, a discipleship program and the church staff regularly does house visits and community evangelism. This church is truly transforming this community with the Gospel. Along with the church, Compassion International has begun their unique child development program to strengthen the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical development of children and are seeking to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name! There are currently 200+ children enrolled in this program & they’re looking to add more!

Construction plans began in March of 2019, building officially began in April 2019, and was completed in March of 2020. The new church building includes three classrooms, two bathroom units for children with hand washing stations, a staff bathroom, a kitchen, and a multipurpose room.

The church currently has 30+ adults and 50+ children in who attend regularly and have seen 17 people come to faith in Jesus!

Through the radical generosity of members in our church this community now has a church that will transform generations to come with the gospel in Jesus name!

San Miguel Church Plant

Fielder Church has been partnering with Compassion International since 2013 as they exist to be a child-advocacy ministry pairing compassionate people with children living in extreme poverty to release the children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty. They work with thousands of local churches around the world, and each church partner tailors our holistic child development model to the contextualized needs of the children in its community, to best deliver the whole-life care the children need. In 2013, Fielder Church was a part of launching a Child Development Center in the neighborhood of San Miguel in Sincelejo, Colombia, in partnership with Iglesia Más que Vencedores. Through this CDC and local church, we saw God do amazing things that transformed this community with the gospel.
