Erin Benton
Foster Care & Adoption Pastor
Erin grew up overseas in Hong Kong, the daughter of missionaries. These formative years spent in an international setting significantly shaped her worldview and opened her heart and eyes to the nations. Upon returning the states at 18, Erin attended Dallas Baptist University, where she met the love of her life, Luke. They are celebrating 23 years of marriage. Erin graduated with a teaching degree and spent the next 20 years teaching in some capacity, either in the public school system, homeschooling, or in women’s Bible studies.
In 2005, the Lord led Erin’s family to Fielder and for the last 17 years they have called Fielder home. She has loved watching God continue to grow and build Fielder into a church that is diverse and passionate about the Gospel and pursuing people.
In early 2013 the Lord began asking them to be obedient in pursuing adoption and after a year and a half of waiting, they welcomed their fourth child through adoption! Since that time it has been her joy to go on the journey with family members, friends, and others in her community as they pursue adoption or fostering. She has a heart to come alongside, encourage and support others that are walking through this process. She is so grateful to be a part of a church whose heart is to bring hope and relief to vulnerable children.
