Shaina Rios
College Associate
Hey y’all!
Growing up in Midwest Minnesota, moving to the South and then Washington State in the Pacific Northwest, Shaina has grown up in a variety of places in the U.S. One thing that was consistent throughout her life was the Gospel-centered home that her parents were faithful to provide which the Lord used to bring her to accept Jesus as her Savior at the young age of 11 years old. However, she didn’t develop a true love for the Lord until she attended Washington State University where she became involved with a collegiate church called Resonate. Through the influence of the Gospel community and being shaped by the Word of God, she was convicted of her brokenness and moved to truly pursue an actual relationship with Jesus no matter what it takes!
Her passion for connecting with new students, discipleship, and coffee dates with new friends led her to step into her first ministry position with the eagerness to share Jesus with college students!! She recently moved back down to Texas where she is currently attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to further her education in working on a Master’s in Biblical Counseling and she is so excited to learn more about what it looks like to walk with others through hard circumstances of life while pointing them to the hope we have in Jesus! Her desire to be sent for the Gospel, contextualizing the Gospel cross-culturally, and her passion for reaching college students has brought her, by God’s grace and provision, to work at Fielder as a Send Resident alongside the college ministry!! She is so hyped to learn and see how the Lord moves in the college students this year! If you ever want to find Shaina she is more than likely at a coffee shop somewhere in Arlington, playing codenames with friends, or wandering around Target/Trader Joe’s!
